School is back in session!

So that means that I won’t be able to write as much as I would like to. I know I was very busy this summer and didn’t get to do as much as I wanted but I still had fun so no harm, no foul. I will keep everyone updated as much as I can. As always, if anyone does have any questions of what is going on with my life please ask away.

One item that might be a topic, is a new student art sale. Since I just transferred to a new school that is larger than my old one, I will possible be able to have an even broader range on holding bigger student art sales. If it comes to fruition, I will post before and after plans/results.

Last item on today’s agenda: T-Shirts. I have come to find out that the logistics of the t-shits is a lot harder than what I anticipated. Because of that, I don’t think I will be able to make any more than the few blank shirts that I currently have (all of which are X-Large). It does suck, but it’s also a good thing because school has a much more substantially weighted to-do list than a few artistic wants. Besides, I can always wait a couple years to be a literal staving artist.

Song: The Devin Townsend Project – Juular. I’ve seen Dev live twice. He played this last time I saw him. He’s awesome and this new video is quite hilarious. Also, I learned the drum beat for it, quite repetitious.

T-Shirts!

Overly Excited

Apparently I was very anxious when I wrote the last post about the t-shirts. I forgot to mention and link the other two paintings I added. Both pieces were added to the 6th page. Some paintings that were already previously established on the 1st page were moved to the 6th page as well. If there anyone is pondering why I did this, I just wanted to make it easy to find the t-shirts, without having to search through a multitude of pages.

Page 6!

Please let me know what you think of both of them. Que Hora Es? (pictured above) is still for sale, Sanctuary has already been sold.

Song: Vello Leaf – Whispers. The piano and a woman’s voice can be hypnotic.

T-Shirts!

I’ve Created T-Shirts

And they’re for sale…but not quite yet. I make them myself one by one. PFFFFFFFFFFFT…Who needs mass production? I will be able to start making them available to order by next week (hopefully). Though if you have plans to buy one, let me know, because I do need to buy shirts of all different sizes. I might have to do some weird stuff in order to get exactly what I need but it’ll be worth it.

The shirt in the picture above is called Universe. I have two others, Nature and Empire, all three are located on the first page.

T-SHIRTS!

They are $15 for each from Small to X-Large. If I go bigger than a X-Large it will cost more because the shirts cost more at that size. I didn’t make the pricing for the original shirts, blame those people for being size racists! …please don’t call them size racists. They’re just selling the merchandise based off material used. I don’t care if you’re big or skinny, tall or small, but if you look like a hipster I might take issue!

Even if you don’t want to purchase a shirt, I’m all ears for comments and opinions, since it’s something I’ve never done before.

Song: Low – Words. Slow chill tune for a Sunday evening.

I hope you didn’t miss me too much

I did miss my “bloggy friends” as one bloggy friend says. I’ve had one hectic summer schedule going and it’s still crazy as can be (not to be confused with a heretic summer). I’ve just had to shove stuff off to the side to get this done, along with updating my website. I’ve finished the massive over-haul of my whole site. I edited every page except the contact page, which I should have made one little change to as well. I will be updating the site again in a few days because I have a more edits to do. I will have two more paintings to put up then and I have come out with a t-shirt line, which I will have pics of as well.

As far as what’s new now, I Must Be On Candid Camera, Jackson Pollock FTW and Going Green are on Page 5. Forget The Future and What Are You Thinking About? Are on Page 6. Page 6 only has two image slots filled atm, but when I do the update it will be a little more crowded, to include some paintings moving around! (cue epic suspense music!)

And if anyone is pondering about the t-shirts I just mentioned, I will have more info to come with that sometime next week (hopefully). I’m in hangin’ with my family heaven right now and it will be getting even better, but I will try to dash out a quick blurb with the details.

I hope everyone else’ summer has been as glorious as mine has. Let me know what’s going on, with links, pics or other juicy gossip bits.

Song:  Since the summer is about silliness, watch this even if you don’t like dubstep.

Art Class Hiccup

Le sigh…I just wanted to write about my class and post all of the paintings that I did for the class in a couple posts, but I need to hold off. I will explain why later, but I can’t right now. It’s rather aggravating since I haven’t had time to post any of this stuff due to school being so hectic, but now that I am free, I can’t due to an almost unforeseen problem.

Don’t fret too much. I will be sure to post all of them as soon as I can. I don’t want to make my intellectual readers be deprived from my work and words any further. I do have some good info to leave for you to salivate on. I will be adjusting the prices of my current pieces, along with putting up 5 or 6 of the paintings I did for the class for sale.

Here is a picture of the three pieces I had in the student show:

Yes the lighting on my work is crap, but it’s not like I have the power to get them to change the lights. My whole painting class looked a little dim (with regards to illumination), compared to most of the other student work. I will put up good individual pictures when I make my future post.

The artist right below my work, on the left-side is Jonathan Montalbano. He’s a talented guy that has been altering images on his computer in a binary fashion to paint them in a traditional manner. If you have any wonders or queries about his work, here is his contact info:

Song: Hammock – Breathturn. I needed to play this song, so I wouldn’t wind all the way up and pop my head right off. Melt away to this relaxing tune.

Almost Done

My main full fledged assault of end-of-the-semester work has been done and turned in. I have one last week of a History final and a few other things I need to do. I am pleased to announce that I have three pieces in the Student show. I’ll be sure to go on a writing craze and post tons and tons of pictures up for all to see, along with some other news that is going on.

I have been neglecting people and I’m sorry. I will get caught on post and have plenty of time to hang out with friends, as my free time will expand 1000%. If anyone wants to go ahead and fill me in on something I should know, feel free to get my attention now. I’ll also make a summer plans posts. Fun shiz!

Painting Class Project Update

After the mid-term critique, we’ve had another assignment added and I need to re-assess what’s going on in that class and what’s needed. Sometimes with art, lost in translation is the most common phrase used. Not understanding why comments were made, or grades were given out are making me confused.

I also have a hitch with my latest piece that I’ve been working on. Nothing too major, as of now… I am going to start planning out the paintings that I can get done. I have tons on my plate. Hopefully I’ll get a lot done on this spring break.

One of the pictures I am using for my portrait painting.

Song:  Rosetta – Temet Nosce. Amazing song off Rosetta’s Wake/Lift album. I picked it up for $2.99. Score!

Painting Class Project #6

We had our mid-term critique today. I have so much more work to do on a few of my pieces that will bring them together in some manner. I’m not happy with two, I need to work on my time piece a bunch more and I have one that I’m happy with but I guess I need to re-work some of it.

I was a little annoyed since when my still life painting was commented on, I followed those comments and changed the painting based on those comments. Now more comments have been brought forth that weren’t previously mentioned, and these weren’t nit-picky comments either. I guess you can’t please everyone. I will alter what I want to please myself and be done with it.

As I mentioned I still have to work on my time piece. The background is mostly done but the foreground will be worked over heavily. Enjoy the pics, but remember that this is a work in progress. Dimensions are 12” x 48” x 1.5

I feel as if I’m ready to divulge the secretive info for the last few weeks. I am going to be creating another blog. This one will be a general blog that will discuss many non-art items. One main feature of the blog will be beer reviews. I’m not sure of the name for the beer review section yet. Do you think “Yeast Infection” is too strong?

Song: Fallujah – The Door Made Of Light. Not for the faint of ears.

Painting Class Project: #5

Time has been stripped from me this past weekend. I acquired my yearly illness, and began noticing symptoms Thursday. I didn’t accomplish much this weekend. I wanted to be much further along with my Time Painting than I am. I was miserable in class working on it as well. Sometimes I can be a jerk, I won’t lie.

But I digress…the Time piece should be finished for the mid-term critique next Monday. So that would mean I’ll have a picture up in time for next week’s post. AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!!!!! Not really, but I can imagine it if I want to.

Now onto info about the real painting #5, I have a few ideas and I will be narrowing it down to be able to start working on it roughly Wednesday. I have a great deal of planning I have to do, and I need to do a little bit of studying. If anyone is expecting a normal portrait painting, you must have clicked on the wrong blog. (insert lolz)

One last tidbit about the blogging news I briefly mentioned last week. I still have a lot of work to do on it, and I may have jumped the gun just a tad. I will be able to deliver something around late March. I’m probably going to do most of the work during my spring break. (insert manboobz nudity!) One bit of give-a-way info, this is for the Adult Crowd. (insert regular nudity)

Song: Donna De Lory – Samba Sadashiva. I needed to listen to something calm to help clear my brain.
